Goalkeeper Amas Obasogie on Sunday produced another incredible performance, manning the goal post for Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin as his brilliance helped his side snatch a point away from Kano Pillars in the Match Day 10 game of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The Benin Arsenals’ goalkeeper also showed his strong character against Enyimba FC on Wednesday in Aba in the rescheduled Match Day one encounter with several brilliant saves on his return from national duty with the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles invitee goalkeeper prevented an early goal in the 12th minute of play when he rushed out to stop Kano Pillars forward Mustapher Umar’s invasion and he got punished over the contact as the center referee awarded a penalty kick to Pillars.
Pillars legendary captain Rabiu Ali took the spot kick but Amas Obasogie produced a brilliant save to stop the ball from going into the net.

Amas Obasogie later saved another one-on-shot in the 45th and 90th minutes to deny the Sai Masu Gida boys from home victory.
As the pressure from coach Abdu Maikaba’s side continued unabated in the last quarter of the match, coach Monday Odigie brought in Stanley Okorom and Joel Djong for Kelly Kester and Sarki Ismael to fortify his defense line.
His plan, indeed worked as his side did all that was necessary to share the spoils with Pillars.

While also speaking during the post-match interview, Amas Obasogie who was adjudged man of the match said he was happy that Insurance is returning to Benin with a point from a very difficult terrain.
