Correct interpretation of the Laws of The Game and subsequent application on the field of play during matches shall remain sacrosanct for referees this season, says the President of the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, Otunba Tade Azeez as Week 3 matches come up today in all the centres.
Otunba Tade Azeez in his weekly charge to referees before games, informed participating teams to be ready to witness best of officiating as the gentlemen of the whistle have been properly trained ahead of the 2019/2020 football season, to undertake their functions without fear or favour.
Speaking from Lesotho where he is part of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF delegation for the Super Eagles Nations Cup Qualifier, the NRA President further reminded the teams and their supporters that implementation of the changes in the Laws of the Game has commenced this season and everyone should be knowledgeable about the latest development in association football rules than get confused when executed on the field of play by the referees.
At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofamata, Kano backyard of Kano Pillars, where visiting Lobi Stars of Markurdi will play against the home side, Dr Chimezie Udennaka, a medical doctor from Anambra State council and son of a retired refere, Sir Bebeto Udennaka ( KSJI) will direct the affairs at the centre for Ondo State Akinsulore K and Felegha JB of Yenogoa to control the lines. A former chairman of the Lagos State council, Bashiru Adesegun Kosoko is the Assessor.
While the National Financial Secretary of Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, will be monitoring the performances of the referees led by Nura Abdulahi of Zamfara in Enugu for Rangers vs MFM, where Usman Abdulahi of Gombe and Aminu Salihu of FCT are the officials, his Deputy from the Delta Council, Alhaji Odihili will be with his note book jotting decisions of a Sokoto referee, Marwan Bala Jungeru alongside Mohammed Mohammed of Bauchi and Hussaini M of FCT as Assistant Referees 1 and 2 respectively in Umuahia; Abia Warriors vs Sunshine Stars.
