The Board, Management, and Staff of Lobi Stars Football Club in the wake of the fire incident that engulfed the club bus of Wikki Tourists Football Club on their way to honor an NPFL Match Day 11 against Akwa United in Uyo.
The gory incident was said to have taken place on Thursday 18th February 2021 in Kibo, along the hilly axis of Jos/Akwanga road. Though no life was reported lost, the team recorded colossal losses in material effects such as phones, sports equipment, both official and personal.
Having been victims of a similar incident last year on our way back from Ilorin where the team recorded an away win over Kwara United in the 2019/2020 NPFL, we understand the trauma associated with such an experience, especially that the team was only on their way for the game.
We urge the Management and Staff of Wikki Tourists to remain steadfast and calm in order to overcome the trauma arising from the ugly experience and gory sight, put the incident behind them, and look forward to better outings.
While appreciating the almighty God for sparing the lives of the players and other occupants of the bus, we sincerely send our deepest sympathies.
