In compliance with the Club Licensing Regulations of the League Management Company (LMC), players and officials of Kwara United Football Club on Thursday, underwent Covid-19 tests, ahead of the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season in line with the protocols and guidelines of the NCDC.
The tests are part of the numerous processes put in place by the league organisers, in fulfilment of the licensing regulations and financial control.
The major criteria for the licensing regulations covers areas as; sporting, infrastructure, administrative/personnel, legal and financial criteria.
For any club to be certified, the five criteria are fundamental, and in addition, the club must provide certification for security (from Nigeria Police), fire safety (from Fire Service), medical (from Ministry of Health), environment (from Ministry of Environment) and emergency (from Emergency Management Agency).
A visit to the Kwara State Stadium Complex today indicates that Kwara United Football Club is working towards fulfilling these conditions, as work has began in various places within and outside the Main-Bowl of the Complex.
The Committee put in place by the club towards achieving the goal, headed by Pharmacist Amid Olanrewaju Alege has pledged to meet all the requirements before the expiration of the deadline.
The committee said that it has met all the Agencies, some of whom have inspected the facilities, ahead of the issuance of certifications.
They also added that efforts are on to have the Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARMA) to put the road inside the Complex in shape ahead of the commencement of the 2019/2020 season.
KWARMA, led by its Chairman, Hon. Bolakale Oloje was in the stadium on Tuesday to inspect necessary areas. He was also at the office of Kwara United FC, where he met with the Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, at the Club Secretariat before the inspection.
The sporting criteria, according to the LMC, harps on Youth Development Programme, and the club has partnership with the Kwara Football Academy for proper and technical monitoring of its U-12 and U-15 teams.
Infrastructure criteria is basically about the stadium and it’s environment, and the club, in conjunction with the Sports Council are in the process of meeting all guidelines.
