NPFL: ‘Just a little Information ‘Ikorodu City FC Captain Ojetoye Waliu Reveals Secret Behind Rivers United Fall In Lagos

Ikorodu City FC captain , Ojetoye Waliu has revealed the secrets behind Rivers United poor showing in Lagos.

Alluding to the club’s coach , Nurudeen Aweroro who shared a little information on the weakness of Rivers United FC which led to their fall and end their unbeaten streak of nine games in the Nigeria Premier Football League, (NPFL) Matchday 10 fixture played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena MJA Onikan on Sunday, Sports247 reports.

The keenly contested match saw Rivers United concede two quick goals in the restart of the second half after a goalless first half .

One of the players that is instrumental to the record breaking win for Ikorodu City is the team captain Ojetoye waliyu, who had almost a flawless outing attributed the victory to the ability of the team coach’ s ability to read the match well in the first half and spot the weakness of the Rivers United FC side.

Waliu who expressed his delight for the victory says they exploited their opponents’ loopholes cited by Coach Nurudeen Aweroro during the half time break

‘”It is just a little information about the opponent that we should take note of. He saw their weak point and he asked us to work on it. Then we capitalized on their loopholes in the second half which gave us the two goals.” Waliu told www.sports247.ng

Waliu also shares what has changed since coach Nurudeen Aweroro took from Bright Ozegbagbe after Matchday five that the only lost a match but has won three and drew one.

‘ Nothing changes, it’s just the mentality and the way we approach the game, the character that we show on match days.

” At first we were like a newcomer, then along the line we know we have to show character and we have to develop a winning mentality, so it was just the mentality and character that changed.”

The highly excited player said the fans should keep coming to the stadium to share the team because they will keep entertaining while they also win their games.

” The fans should keep supporting the team, they should keep coming to watch our games because we are delicious like noodles, So I’m very sure in the next four or five games we will record great results as our games is getting better and better and I am sure we will retain our spot in the npfl for next season.” Waliu assured the fans .

Rivers United has never lost any match this season and it’s one of the shocking beauties over the weekend as lots of keen followers expect the former champion to be at least a point in Lagos but the Finidi George got drowned in the mighty ocean of the Onikan water front.
