With the controversies rocking the NPFL on how the season should be ended, Abia Warriors FC chairman, Emeka Inyama has backed that the league should be ended.
Inyama represented Abia Warriors in the virtual meeting held by the LMC with NFF and NPFL club chairmen to reach a consensus on how to end the season.
The former NFF board member said on Family United by Football that the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted lots of things.
“There is no other way now than to end the league. We are in perilous times. Covid 19 is hurting, country on lock down, economy is dead. Nothing is happening.
It’s only natural that we end the league.”
He disclosed that they agreed in the meeting to end the season using the points per game, PPG format.
“hence we voted overwhelmingly to end the league using PPG. It’s the international best practice and has also been applied by many countries.”
The NPFL 2019/2020 season had been abruptly indefinitely suspended in March since the pandemic broke out in the country.
