Coach of Enyimba FC Usman Abd’Allah has given an update on the progress made by mercurial midfielder Chukwuka Onuwa, who is suffering from a knock.
The former MFM FC dazzler has entertained the Aba Giant fans with his creativity and panache this season, but he is yet to feature for the club in recent matches due to minor knock.
“Onuwa has a little bit of a knock and he is just recovering from it,” Abd’Allah stated.
“It is too early for him to be in the team. He is doing his best to ensure that he regains match fitness and be available for us.
“We are watching him and how his body is responding to the training sessions.”
He added, “We do not want to rush him to action because of the type of knock he had. We will gradually return him to the team in a way that it won’t harm his long term stay with us.
“I feel the pain of the fans who will like him to play but the technical crew is doing everything for his overall interest.”
Enyimba are still second on the NPFL Group A table with 28 points from 18 games, despite the 1-0 loss to Rivers United on Wednesday.
