The claimants received the payment of the overdues on the 22nd of November 2024 in full compliance in accordance with the PSAC’s directives, www.sports247.ng gathered exclusively.
The PSAC placed a transfer ban on Indebted clubs, and they can’t use their newly signed players indefinitely from Matchday 11 of the 2024/2025 season, until all debts are cleared.
Consequently, Elkanemi Warriors has now been cleared of any irregularities and can now use their newly transferred players, and the transfer ban has been lifted, a check on the PSAC revealed.
With this development only Abia Warriors, Kwara United and Akwa United in the NPFL are yet to comply fully with PSAC rulings as every other club involved in the case has been cleared.
The Nigeria Football Federation set up the Players Status and Arbitration Committee in 2024 to look into disputed issues between players, coaches and their employers and delivered her first series of Judgement in May 2024.
The landmark judgments have seen players and coaches whose contract were terminated arbitrarily by their employers without adequate compensation or compliance with their contractual terms the opportunity to tender cases and got judgement in their favour.
The PSAC still has some pending cases to look into but no date has been picked for sittings or hearing of those cases.
