NPFL : Daberechi Anyanwu says team win is far more important than goals record

Daberechi Anyanwu

Daberechi Anyanwu has spoken of his pride at becoming the first former Cynosure Fc player to score in the NPFL this season

The flip footed attacker opened his NPFL goal account on Thursday when he scored his 1st Premier League goal of the campaign in Kwara United’s 1-2 away loss against Remo Stars.
Daberechi’s exquisite header beyond John Shuaibi was only enough to level terms just before half time but Mathias Ogwuche 70th minute goal was enough to give Remo Stars all 3 points on the card.
Having broken the goal drought, the star signing from Cynosure Fc now firmly has his eyes on the Golden Boot and player of the season awards but admits he would swap them all for ensuring Kwara United win the NPFL title.
“It means a lot. I always try to score every game to help the team and to get the points. That is the most important thing not just for me but for us, that we play as a team, as 11 players, and so each goal for me is to help the team.
It is a great feeling, of course, it is a great feeling, not the kind of result we wanted today, but in the end, I am just happy to score and help the team. If I had a choice between the NPFL League title and the Golden Boot, then, of course, it would be the NPFL League title. To win the NPFL League is huge for everyone. I don’t care about the rest.” he stated.
Daberechi Anyanwu is one of several former Cynosure Fc players who have taken the NPFL by storm this season with their sterling performances.
The others include Ibe Peters(Sunshine Stars), Ogar David, Uchenna Martins(Rivers United), Ifeanyi Anyanwu, Patrick Nwogbaga, Believe Imiete(Go-Round Fc) and Hyacinth Junior Nwakwengu(Abia Warriors)
