After his resignation last week, coach Abubakar Bala returned to take the reigns as Kwara United manager on Sunday, but it was not enough to propel his team to victory against Rivers United.
The Harmony Boys couldn’t pick up a win at home for the fourth consecutive home game following the goalless draw with Rivers United at the Ilorin Township Stadium.
Despite the setback, the Flying Eagles assistant coach has vowed that his side will continue to fight to avoid relegation this season.
“It is disappointing (the result of the game), we didn’t expect it because we prepared to secure the maximum three points from the game.
“We will continue to fight to avoid relegation.”
Kwara United next game is away at Gombe United and Bala believes his side has to work hard to pick at least a point on the road to make up for the home draw against Rivers United.
“The next thing is to work hard to pick up a point away from home after the two points lost at home.”
United are tenth in Group A of the abridged NPFL table with 21 points, three points away from the safe zone.
