Rangers International, the champions of the recently concluded 2023/2024 NPFL season, will look to defend their title when the new season starts. The Flying Antelopes secured their eighth league title in dramatic fashion, ending the season on a high note and earning a substantial reward of N150 million.
Their triumph not only brought glory but also solidified their status as one of Nigeria’s premier football clubs.
The just-concluded season saw Remo Stars and Enyimba finishing in strong second and third positions, respectively, showcasing their competitive edge and setting the stage for what promises to be another thrilling season.
On the other end of the spectrum, four clubs faced the disappointment of relegation. Sporting Lagos, Doma United, Heartland, and Gombe United will all compete in the Nigeria National League (NNL) next season, as they strive to return to the top tier of Nigerian football.
As the league prepares for the new season, fans and clubs alike are gearing up for what is expected to be an exciting campaign. The NPFL continues to grow in stature, with increased competitiveness and the promise of more thrilling football action starting on August 31, 2024.
