Ahmed Musa and Brown Ideye will go head to head later today in the NPFL as Kano Pillars hosts Enyimba FC, Sports247 reports.
The encounter is a week 14 rescheduled match of the Nigeria Premier Football League to hold at the Sanni Abacha Stadium Kano by 3 pm kick off time.
Ahmed Musa and Brown Ideye won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles and both players have been instrumental to their team since they announced their sensational return to the Nigeria top tier league.
Ahmed Musa have scored five crucial goals for Kano Pillars this season with a couple of assists since he joined at the begining of the season.
While Brown Ideye has two goals to his credit as Enyimba have gone to win matches since he joined the people’s Elephant in December 2024.
Both players are expected to lead their team’s search for three points later today as both sides strive to improve their standings on the log.
Eguma’s men are placed 7th on the NPFL log with 27 points from 17 matches, with 2 games at hand, the table,while Kano Pillars are in the 9th position with 25 points after 18 matches.
Enyimba will be focusing on picking valuable points on the home front after a crash in the CAF Confederation Cup following a 1-3 loss to Zamalek in Cairo on Sunday.
Coach Stanley Eguma told the press how getting the three points is important for the side after the dismal performance at the CAF Champions League.
“We are coming back to the NPFL after our dismal performance in the CAF Confederation Cup. I think the boys have now shifted their focus to the NPFL.
“We are ready for the encounter, and I believe we have to give our all in the game to ensure we pick points and improve our fortunes in the league said Eguma told Enyimba media ahead of the crunchy encounter .
Enyimba, and Kano Pillars will be meeting for the first time this after Aba Elephants defeated Kano Pillars 5-0 (in April 2024) in Aba on their way to winning the 2023/2024 NPFL title .
