Enyimba coach Usman Abd’Allah was delighted with his players’ performance in their 2-nil victory over relegation bound Niger Tornadoes at the Enyimba Township Stadium on Monday, Sports247 reports.
The People’s Elephant moved a step closer to securing one of the three playoff spots with the victory, which sends Niger Tornadoes to the Nigeria National League (NNL) alongside Remo Stars after 21 round of matches.
Captain Ifeanyi Anaemena scored the opener from the spot before Ibrahim Mustapha added the second in the 70th minute.
After the game, Abd’Allah revealed that the most important thing is the victory which gives the team maximum points and edges them closer to the playoff spot.
“The most important thing is the three points. We got it! We came looking for nothing more than the points and nothing other than the three points, we got it, so congratulations to the boys. It’s a job well done.”
Enyimba is third on the Group A table with 33 points, a point above fourth-placed MFM – who travel away to Sunshine Stars in their last group game.
The Aba Giant need just a win when they visit Katsina United in their final league game to guarantee their Super Six playoff spot.
