It was fun at the camp of Remo Stars as Head Coach Daniel Ogunmodede held his first training session since his arrival from Europe after completing his course.
Ogunmodede had spent more than two weeks touring Spain, Portugal and Germany to acquire knowledge in Football Data Analytics and continuous coaching education development.
His capable lieutenants. Coach Yomi Elijah, Coach Sulaimon Kamil Folarin and Coach Yinks Shokabi took charge of the team pending his arrival from Europe.
As fans of the Sky Blues Stars countdown to a new domestic league campaign, Ogunmodede’s arrival was right on time as the Interim Management Company (IMC) awaits the green light from the country’s apex football body, NFF, to announce the kickoff date for the new season.
A source in Remo Stars camp said the coaching crew and players could not hide their delight after the practice session on Tuesday.
According to him: “It’s a new football trend for the coaches and indeed the players, having seen a slice of the impact of the Football Data Analytics knowledge Ogunmodede has in stock from his tour to Europe.
“The dynamics of the game are changing at a fast pace and one needs to catch up with it. Players’ data before and during matches is key to winning matches. The ability of one analysing them is the challenge we don’t have here.
“Now that Ogunmodede knows, it surely will complement the daily routine and hard work if the team.”
However, “It’s going to be a new learning experience for the team as Ogunmodede has a lot of offers, so it’s now a priority for everyone in the team to learn these new things fast.”
