Remo Stars FC perfect start ended in Ilorin as Kwara United ran away with a 1-0 victory.

Rivers United recorded their fourth win of the season on Sunday as Akwa United fell 2-1 in Port Harcourt, this takes them to the top of the log, with 13 points amassed out 15 points obtainable.
Rivers United FC moves past Remo Stars at the top of the log. Remo Stars loss in Ilorin ensured they reliquensh it their number one position for the first time since the beginning of the season.
Amokachi Joins Class 94 Mates As Lobi Stars Sack Eugene
Daniel Amokachi has returned to the NPFL as a coach, he will be taking over from Coach Eugene Agagbe of Lobi Stars who becomes the first coach to be sacked this season.
Lobi Stars defeated Shooting Stars by 1-0 on Saturday but it was not enough to save Eugene’s job who could manage only one victory out of the five games played under his watch.
Amokachi’s appointment now makes it three of the Super Eagles class of 94 set who are now coaches in the NPFL as Finidi George continues with River United and Heartland FC’s Emmanuel Amuneke .
Ahmed Musa Shines In Third Kano Pillars’ Stint
It was a part weekend for Kano Pillars as Ahmed Musa of the Super Eagles started his third stint with Kano Pillars, scoring the two goals that sunk Sunshine Stars on Sunday.
The return of Ahmed Musa to the NPFL is a massive advertisement for the league as thousands of Fans thronged the Mohammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina to see Ahmed Musa in action for Kano Pillars and they got full value for their money and their travel time.
Power Failure In Aba
There was power failure in Aba with a few minutes to the end of the match between Enyimba FC against Katsina United with the host leading by 3-0 and the match was postponed as the match venue was thrown into darkness.
The remaining minutes of the match was played on Monday morning with Enyimba won the match by 3-0.
Best Of The Rest
It was a relief for Coach Emmanuel Amuneke who won his first match of the season, as Heartland defeated Niger Tornadoes by 2-0.
This first victory for coach Amuneke was done in style, keeping his firts clean sheet of the season , inflicting Niger Tornadoes first loss of the season and scoring two goals for the first time in the season.
Perhaps the Heartland FC revival has started as Heartland leaves the relegation zone for the time this season but there is still more ground to cover with 33 matches left to be played.
Elkanemi Warriors FC are fast becoming a draw specialist.
With another draw of the road against Bendel Insurance on Sunday 1-1, they are now drawn three matches in the league , and won one out of the four played so far to stay unbeaten in the season.
