Remo Stars football club captain, Nduka Junior has revealed that the team will take each game of the 2022/23 NPFL season step by step like a cup final following win against El Kanemi Warriors.
The Ikenne based club started their second year in the NPFL with a 2-0 home win against the Northern Warriors, Sports247.ng reports.
“The league is a marathon not a sprint and we are not there yet, it’s just our first league game at home and we won 2-0 against El Kanemi Warriors,” Nduka Junior stated after the game.
“They are not a bad side because at a point in time, the intensity of the game was high, a bit of pressure but we knew that it’s our first home game of the abridged league format.”
“Everyone wants to maintain thier home and when we got to the dressing room, I said to them that it’s a game at a time, we need to take this game step by step and play like cup finals where you have no second chance once you lose.”
“In the second half, we needed a second goal so as to be confident that the win has been sealed, we got the result in our favor with maximum points, it’s a good effort from everyone,” Nduka lauded.
