Edith Agoye’s men charged from the blast of the whistle and the team’s real chance came in the 11th minutes when assist master , David Onovo squared from a Corner kick inside the 5th yard box but tourists goalkeeper was quick to dislodge
Stars pressed high from both flanks in search of an opener in the half hour with David Onovo, Samson Olasupo and stephen Chukwude combining but clear cut chances were not feasible as the first half ended goalless
Sunshine stars resumed the second half with high tempo to the admiration of the teaming home fans but chances went begging in the 47th and 53rd minutes respectively.
Stephen Chukwude took fans off their seats with a drive in the 55th minutes but his efforts hitting the side net .
The goal eventually arrived in the 57th minute , when Samson Olasupo calmly headed home following an assist through a corner kick from AbdulAziz Ajagbe.

In the 65th minutes Vincent Temitope was introduced as he replaces Chukwude Stephen .

Agoye rang changes again in the 72nd minutes , this time Bashir Abdulrahman replacing Samson Olasupo.
In the 80th minutes , Ejike uzoechi replaces injured Udom Ekerette while David Onovo made way for Jide Jimoh
Sunshine Stars tried in the closing stages to increase the tally but couldn’t as the match ended 1-0 in favor of the home team .
With the result , Sunshine stars occupies the second position on the abridged group B league table with 15 points from 9 matches .
Edith Agoye in his post match interview thanked supporters of his team assuring them of a better and stronger team when the second stanza resumes
