Chairman of Nasarawa United Football Club, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, has, for the umpteenth time, assured supporters and fans of the Club that its current situation would be overcome.
He disclosed this shortly after the team’s 1-2 Nigeria Professional Football League match-day five home loss to neighbouring Plateau United FC at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, on Wednesday.
At the meeting of the Team’s critical stakeholders held over the night, Barr. Danladi said:
“Gentlemen, it’s obvious our situation is not palatable as far as the current league season is concerned.
“We have searched every nook and cranny to identify the remote causes of our current predicament, and I can assure you that there is a way out.
“I wish to reiterate and reassure the Executive Governor, the good people of Nasarawa State and vast supporters and fans of the Club that we shall turn around the condition of our darling team for better.
“The team will not go on relegation as widely being speculated.
“The team belongs to everyone of us in the State, and it’s natural for them to feel unhappy with our performance.”
The Chairman of the NPFL Club Owners’ Association appealed to the supporters to maintain status quo while stressing that the team would soon return to their original home ground to prosecute their home games.
“Yes, we are aware of the ultimatum given by the Government of the State, but I want to appeal to our teaming supporters to continue to rally round the team by any means to succeed.
“Of the eighteen matches in our Group, we have played five, and we have a positive mindset towards the remaining fourteen games.
“Our supporters should keep praying for us and do anything meaningful to boost the morale of the team.
“Concerning our home Stadium, I have discussed with the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development who further assured us that the Contractor would complete works on the facility as earlier promised as he has brought all the needed materials to the site.
“So, any moment from now, we should be playing our home games at the Lafia City Stadium”, he assured.
