Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, will on Sunday, seek to end the first stanza of the abridged league with maximum points to brighten playoff hopes, as they host visiting Doma United FC of Gombe.
After suffering defeat on matchday 8 against Wikki Tourists, the Makurdi-based side is eager to return to winning ways in tomorrow’s clash at the new Jos Township Stadium.
The match will be the first league meeting of the two teams, although, the two teams met last season in the AITEO Cup round of 32 at the new Jos Township Stadium and the memories are still fresh to Lobi Stars fans as they defeated the Savannah Tigers 3-0.
Coincidentally the first league meeting of the two teams is coming at the same venue and the Makurdi-based side is battle ready for the encounter.
Speaking to the Club’s media about his team’s level of preparedness, the Head coach of Lobi Stars, Mohammed Baba Ganaru, said the lads are ready for the clash, adding that everyone is available for selection including those that were rested for precautionary measures.
The match will present the likes of Abba Umar, Suur Kamaga as well as Joseph Atule with the opportunity to add to their tally if selected. The trio has been so effective in driving the team to the top.
The defense line of Moses Tsehuan, Sunday Chinedu, Lazarus John, and Monday Akile are also available to keep the defensive line safe, while Francis Ordinaka, Kalu Orji, and Hassan Anas are equally ready to partner in the middle of the pack to link play with ease.
The Savannah Tigers are not pushovers. They will be motivated by the 1-0 result they secured over Abia Warriors on matchday 8, which has taken them to 5th position on the log with 12 points.
Head Coach of Savannah Tigers, Onigbinde Akinade, will rely heavily on Musa Usman, Jumbo Wisdom, Stephen Amos, and Aliyu Haruna in tomorrow’s big occasion against the table toppers.
They will come up with a game plan, but the host is expected to neutralize them to put smiles on their supporters after regulation time.
