Fair skinned Niger Tornadoes’ striker David Okoromi is confident the Ikon Allah Boys will spring surprises this season.
The former ABS of Ilorin goal poacher who linked up with Niger Tornadoes for this season’s NPFL campaign said his team mates are in good mood and ready to kick start this season in a spectacular fashion.
“I’m a new player in the team and there are other attackers whom I believe if we get it right collectively, I’m sure our target for the season which is Super Six appearance will be achieved”.
“The team struggled in the area of goal scoring last season, until the likes of Jonas Emmanuel came in and improved the scoring ratio. I’m ready to complement there effort”.
Okoromi who last played in the NPFL as a younger player with ABS of Ilorin has gained more experienced and exposed. He featured in all the pre-season competitions the Ikon Allah Boys took part in and showed glimpses of what to expect in the season proper when he file out in the Tornadoes colours.
Meanwhile, this contest between Kabiru Dogo (Wikki) and Abubakar Bala Mohammed (Tornadoes) had always been a keenly contested battle, with mostly, a slim margin of scoreline. Last season, Wikki Tourists won the first leg one nill, while Musa Wakili’s 86th minute solitary goal gave Tornadoes the age in Kaduna.
The Ikon Allah boys have had a somewhat great build up to this weekend game.
