Head coach of Plateau United, Fidelis Ilechukwu has lauded his team’s comeback following thier 1-1 draw against Remo Stars yesterday as he eyes a first phase favorable position of the NPFL 2022/23 campaign.
Plateau United who are the first team to pick the first point in Ikenne went into the break with a goal down, but the team grabbed a goal in the second half of the encounter to share the spoils.
Ilechukwu after the game admitted to how good Remo Stars are and the quality they have assembled in the team which makes them a dangerous opponent to play against, Sports247.ng writes.
“Remo Stars have a very good team but I think we did better in second half, they played first half very well while the away team played the second half very well,” he allayed.
“We want to make sure that we push ourselves so much that in the first round, we will be in a comfortable position that will give us advantage of top three (3).”
“The only challenge we are going to have is fatigue but it’s for everybody because if you noticed what happened in our first half, it showed that our team is fatigued with a lot of travels.”
“It’s not an easy thing but I give it to them, so we are going to prepare for our next game very well knowing fully well that El Kanemi Warriors are not in a good position, they will come with everything to get a point but we will fight for three points at the end of the day.”
“I’m so happy with my boys because Remo Stars have a great team and we prepared for that.”
“In football, you have to be very well prepared because anything can happen, we are happy with the point that we picked here.”
