Head Coach of Remo Stars, Daniel Ogunmodede has declared his team ready for the season as they begin thier title battle against El Kanemi Warriors today stating that the team is over prepared.
Ogunmodede admitted that he knew that the fans are all excited for the season kick-off after so many months without action promising that the team won’t disappoint them, Sports247.ng reports.
“The situation in the country is like a baby expecting Christmas and you know what that means, we are being over excited that Sunday is our December 25th,” he said ahead of thier game today.
“We’ve being over prepared, working hard with the boys and it’s pretty difficult going over three months without a competition so having the game on Sunday is a delight for us and in all sincerity, we are so prepared, we are ready for the battle.”
On the possibility of a shocker as seen in the curtain raiser game between Akwa United and Bendel Insurance where the newly promoted side got the maximum three points, Ogunmodede laughed it off saying it’s a different scenario and game venue.
“The match was held in Uyo but our game is here in Ikenne, two different venue, match and week. For me, with my experience there can’t be two same match, every moment is different.”
“The moment that happened in Akwa is different and don’t forget that El Kanemi are from the North and Insurance are from the East.”
“For us, it’s truly a tonic for us not to show complacency and we will try as much as possible to take the dose for the game on us but for us, there’s no small match and big match,” Ogunmodede allayed.
“Just like my name, Ijaball, no room for complacency because it’s a battle and nobody is going to ask you who you fought, they are only interested in the outcome of the game.”
“Football as you know is result oriented and we are not ready to disappoint our fans after a long time of showing then what we have got.”
“We will continue to take that turning so that we will not be complacent,” he promised.
