Technical adviser of Bayelsa United Diepreye Teibowei says his side has put last Sunday’s home draw with Dakkada Fc of Uyo behind them and is now focused on the trip to Abia Warriors on Wednesday in Umuahia.
Teibowei who stated this in a post match interview described the outcome of the encounter as a good start but attributed the dropped point to wastefulness in front of goal by the players.
He noted that his plans was to bury the game in the first half, having controlled the game throughout the period, stating that he is confident of securing away points in the coming games.
Reflecting on the results of match day one in both groups, Teibowei asserted that the standard of the league was high compared to the Nigeria National League, and that no team is guaranteed of home wins.
He thanked the supporters for the unending support rendered to the team, urging them not to relent as the season progresses.
Robert Mizo put the Prosperity Boys ahead on 22 minute from Chizoba Amaelule cross having failed to take the lead on 19 minute from Isreal Consul’s one on one with Dakkada Fc goalkeeper Loveday Anugbuo.
The visitors came very close few minutes after the lead from Daga Daniel’s shot but was ruled offside by the centre referee. United responded immediately in what could be described as the best chance as Daniel Ekpo capitalized on Alex Oyowah low cross.
When it seems the Yenagoa based side were on verge of earning their first three points after their return to the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL, Daga Daniel leveled terms for the visitors in the additional minutes of the game, an encounter watched by the Bayelsa state governor Senator Douye Diri and other government functionaries.
