Having enjoyed three weeks end-of-season break, players and technical officials of Akwa United Football club have officially resumed pre-season training ahead of next football season.
Players and officials of the club return to the team’s camp in Uyo on Sunday and trained on Monday and Tuesday morning at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly training pitch.
Coach Ayodeji Ayeni and his technical team took the boys through some physical training sessions which lasted one and a half hour each day.
The technical crew have given defender Samson Gbadebo, midfielder Bello Babatunde and winger Samuel Amadi till next week Monday to return to camp following their involvement with the senior nation team – Super Eagles B team in the two legged Championship of African Nations CHAN qualifiers against Ghana.
The Promise Keepers will continue their training programme while waiting for the league organizers, LMC to announce the resumption date for the new football season.
