Former Akwa United midfielder, Naibe Akpesiri is feeling euphoria about his recent move to NPFL defending champions, Rivers United as he confesses that continental football was one of the many reasons he joined the team.
Stanley Eguma’s new recruit had no bad thing to say about his time at Akwa United as he vowed that he will give his best to his new side, Sports247.ng writes.
Speaking of his time at Akwa United, he allayed that his season with Akwa United was wonderful, “I had a great time and it was nice playing in the league.”
“I have never played in any abridged league before, this is my first time and I’m hoping to see the best even much more better than the full league we played last season.”
On his switch to Rivers United, “coming to Rivers United for me feels like a new beginning as I have to move to a higher place and face more bigger challenges.”
“I have always hoped and prayed to play continental football and Rivers United are currently participating in the Confederation’s Cup at the moment, that’s one of the main reason I moved,” he admitted.
“I am glad that I’m here, I feel very comfortable, it’s a second home from Akwa United for me, I feel honored and happy to be part of this team.”
“The people on ground were loving, the coaches, management, I love it here and I’m so happy to be here,” he concluded.
