Former assistant coach of Plateau United, Abdullahi Mansur has commended the efforts of the interim management committee (IMC) concerning the abridged League Format resolution as he clamors for maximum security for match officials.
The IMC’s resolution of the abridged league format caused tension among major stakeholders, administrators in sport but the body stood thier ground in bid to make sure Nigeria meets up with the global standard.
“It’s a good move that we are seeing the league commence on the 8th of this month, as a matter of fact, it’s a good initiative that the league is going to be in the abridged format so that we can meet up with other standards globally,” Mansur explained.
Mansur further pleaded on the need for maximum security for officials
“Officiating is the bane of the league, I expect the referees to be fair and free and for them to do this, they must be an adequate security at the match venues,” he pleaded.
“The audience will agree with me that this officials are human beings, they have life and they have families. So if the referees go to the match venues and thier security isn’t guaranteed, then you should know that we will not see the best of the league.”
