Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan forward, Sunday Faleye, is cocksure the team will put smiles on the faces of their teeming Supporters and fans on Sunday night.
The Ibadan soccer lords, have not won any match after matchday 12, when they defeated Dakkada FC 1-0 with Faleye, incidentally coming off the bench to score the only goal in the second half.
The win over Dakkada, has been followed by two hone draws (0-0 against Wikki Tourists and 1-1 against Enugu Rangers) but the former Super Eagles player believes the winless run will end when they face Kano Pillars in a matchday 18 encounter.
Speaking ahead of the tie, billed to kick off at 7.00pm at the Lekan Salami Stadium, the soft spoken striker said the players will give all they have to ensure their backers rejoice again.
“It’s been long that our people rejoiced. Results of our games in the past weeks have not been encouraging and our people have been left to go home, wearing gloomy faces.
“Come this Sunday, we will change the tide by beating Kano Pillars to make our people smile again, said Faleye.
Victory against Pillars, is important to the Edith Agoye tutored lads as this is needed to push the team up the ladder and as well restore the fans’ confidence in them.
Going by the words of Faleye and the mood in the team’s camp, going into this match, backers of the Oluyole Warriors will definitely have reasons to celebrate at the end of the 90 minutes.
Shooting Stars are a point behind Pillars, going into this clash as the Sai Masu Gida have 21 points to place 12th on tbe log, while Shooting Stars occupy the 13th spot with 20 points.
