Ibadan soccer lords, Shooting Stars Sports Club. (3SC) of Ibadan, battle Nasarawa United with their sights set on back to back victory over the Lafia based side.
Both teams will trade tackles at the New Jos Stadium, Jos, the adopted home ground of the host team, whose Lafia home ground is being renovated.
When they met two weeks ago in Ibadan, the Oluyole Warriors grabbed all the maximum points via a lone goal victory, courtesy of Anietie Ukoh’s 14th minute spectacular strike.
The win ensured Shooting Stars finished the first round on a good note and this, the team’s Chief coach, Edith Olumide Agoye, believes , would give his team the edge over their opponent when they clash again on Sunday.
Both sides must have made good use of the two weeks break to strengthen their squads, hence, an explosive matchday 20 encounter, which marks the commencement of the second round of the NPFL 2021/22 season is in the offing.
A win in Sunday’s encounter would be massive for the visitors, as it will lift them up on the ladder,, having ended the first round on the ninth position with 26 points.
This is definitely the target of the Oluyole Warriors as they confront the coach Bala Nkiyu tutored side, who heads into this match as the 14th placed team on the log with 22 points,
Meanwhile, Shooting Stars, who arrived the Tin City, Saturday afternoon, had their training on the pitch of the New Jos Stadium later in the day, with the players showing their readiness to confirm their superiority over the host come Sunday.
