Acting General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Dimeji Lawal (MON), is cocksure his team will disunite their host in Wednesday’s matchday 13 encounter.
Lawal expressed this optimism while speaking with Shooting Stars Media, during the team’s training session at the New Jos Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Despite playing at home and going into the game with a scintillating form, Kabongo, as the 3SC boss is popularly known, said the Tin City boys will be taken to the cleaners in the midweek cracker, billed for the New Jos Stadium.
Asked whether his team won’t be intimidated by the current form of the Jos based side, the 3SC helmsman, who also doubles as the Team Manager of the club, posited that the Oluyole Warriors will only respect their host but will never be intimidated by their form.
” For tomorrow’s (Wednesday) match, I am expecting nothing less than victory going by the form of our boys in the past four weeks. Yes this is a team (Plateau United), that has not lost any match at home, but I can tell you that we are bound to be the first team to beat them at home.
“Well, even when I was still playing, I believed in respecting the opponent, but intimidation, no. The fact that they are in second position does not mean we can’t do it. Like I said, we have been on top of our game for the last four weeks. And if you can recall, we were once placed 19th on the log, but now we are sixth, which means we are moving up, so Plateau United should be careful.
“Our team is made up of young players who are eager to get results and I can tell you that they are really in top form ahead of tomorrow’s (Wednesday) game”, stated the former Super Eagles player.
In the same vain, the trio of Sunday Faleye, Anietie Uko and Wasiu Alalade, who spoke with Shooting Stars Media after their training session, also expressed optimism that the Ibadan soccer lords, will get a positive result from the encounter.
