Uyo-based NPFL outfit, Dakkada FC have appointed Mr. Donald Essien as their Security Coordinator to complement the matchday security architecture of the Akwa Ibom state Football Association.
An official club statement made available to the press, Friday, indicates that Mr. Essien who is a Superintendent of Police will be assisted by Mr. Felix Ekuri and three others who make up a new five-man matchday security committee.
The move, the statement further indicates, became necessary to improve security before, during and after the club’s home matches and to guard against any future recurrence of a recent security breach which resulted in the assaulting of a match official and a subsequent banishment of the club to Benin city.
The committee comprises the following persons;
1. Mr. Donald Essien – Coordinator
2. Mr. Felix Ekuri – Deputy Coordinator
3. Mr. Etido Inyang – Member
4. Prince Ukeme Ukpong – Member
5. Comrade Edidiong Stephen – Secretary
Meanwhile, Dakkada welcome Kano Pillars to Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, today, Saturday, February 5 at four o’clock in the afternoon, for the early kick-off of matchday eleven of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
