Despite clinching their first win of the season on Sunday in Akure, Sunshine Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has charged his team to do more in front of goal.
Sunshine Stars managed only a goal in the match via Ogunniyi Omo Jesu’s 9th-minute free-kick.
While giving his post-match thoughts with Sports247 present, the Oracle as he is fondly called said there would lot of talking after the win.
“The most important thing was that we kept the three points. We will go back and do a lot of talking, a lot of corrections so that next time, we can get it all right.”
When quizzed about his attackers’ poor finish in front of goal, Ogunbote said he was really disappointed with their performance.
“Yes, of course, I was disappointed. The fans will be disappointed. We should have scored about 2 or 3 goals because sometimes the goals matter a lot at the end of the season, but like I said corrections will be made.”
Forward players like Tolu Oluwole, Chinedu Udechukwu, Ayo Adedubu all had glorious chances to score in the match but could not bury any of them.
The Owena boys after the win will now look to prepare for their week 3 NPFL encounter with MFM FC at the Agege soccer temple next weekend.
