NPFL 2020/21: Sunday Adetunji Seals Plateau Move

NPFL club side, Plateau United is reported to have landed the signature of lethal striker, Sunday Adetunji, who has been a free agent since returning from Czech republic.

The 22-year-old striker who took his Twitter handle to share a glimpse of the news changed his narration to “professional player of Plateau United” and uploaded a picture of himself in a Plateau jersey.

Days ago, there were reports that four NPFL sides including Abia Warriors and NNL side, Shooting Stars were battling for the striker’s signature.

Adetunji played for Lobi Stars last season but talks for a contract extension broke down between both parties.

The new addition to Abdu Maikaba’s team will get a shot at playing on the continent with Plateau representing Ñigeria in the CAF Champions league.

The former El-Kanemi Warriors man is a replacement for the new Enyimba acquisition, Tosin Omoyele who left Jos for Aba late last month.

Adetunji had earlier played for Enyimba and Abia Warriors in the league in past seasons.
