After not winning any of their three previous matches, Rangers International went into matchday 8 needing all three points against Dakkada FC.
Coach Salisu Yusuf went all out playing both Femi Ajayi, who was facing his former club, and Israel Abia upfront.
Those tactics paid off as early as the 23rd minute when Israel Abia met Tope Olusesi’s free-kick to head past Oremade Olawale.
The Flying Antelopes kept piling the pressure on their guests as they tried to seal off the game but the chances were not taken.
This led to early substitutions in the first half as Femi Ajayi and Achibong made way for Christian Nnaji and Ugwuoke.
Nnaji would repay his coach’s faith in him with a goal early in the second half as the ball fell kindly for Godspower Anifieok as he fed the strike for a tap-in.
Lots of chances were created with Israel Abia, Godspower, and other Rangers attackers wasteful in front of goal.
While Dakkada tried to be at least a goal to their name, Nnaji put the sword to their heart with a bullet goal to seal all three points.
Rangers International finally something to cheer after no getting a win since matchday 4.
At the cathedral, it finished Rangers 3 – 0 Dakkada FC
