Enterprising midfield maestro of Rangers International F.C, the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Shedrack Asiegbu has said that he is prepared for the tackles that his former teammates at Abia Warriors F.C will throw at him in the matchday 10, 2020/2021 NPFL fixture expected to happen at Okigwe Township stadium, this weekend.
Asiegbu in a chat with RangersMedia, Friday, said that as a product of the Umuahia based outfit, it will greatly give him the joy to be the one that will get the goals that will ensure his new employers leave Okigwe with the maximum points.
“Abia Warriors is my former team and I hope to give my hundred percent in the game and pray that I would be the one to score the winning goal for my team, Rangers International F.C. I am not under any pressure going into this fixture but just to play my normal game and help my team to a glorious win in Okigwe,” stated the creative midfielder.
Asiegbu further said, “I expect my former teammates to give me some hard tackles. They won’t take it easy on me because they know what I can do but I am not disturbed as that is what they are paid to do while I will do what I am paid to do which is to create and score goals.”
The ‘Flying Antelopes’ will be coming up against coach Imama Amapakabo for the first time since the 2015/2016 season when he led the Enugu club to win its seventh league shield after thirty-two years of a wait before jumping ship the following season to pitch tent with relegated, El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri.
Going into this fixture, Rangers are placed 5th on the twenty-team log with 17 points from nine matches played while their host, Abia Warriors occupy the 19th position amassing six points from the same number of matches prosecuted.
