The NPFL MD8 saw eight games go down with Abia Warriors and Ranger’s Int’l the biggest winners so far.
Abia Warriors who were 19th going into the matchday picked up their first win of the season with an emphatic 4-1 win over Gbenga Ogunbote’s Sunshine Stars with goals from Fatai Abdullahi, Emmanuel Ugwuka, and a brace for Bello Lukman with the in-form Sadeeq Yusuf getting a consolation goal for the Akure Gunners.
Ranger’s Int’l defeated Dakkada FC 3-0 in Enugu after successfully scoring at least two goals against the Uyo based side in two consecutive meetings.
Enyimba climbed to the top of the league table, albeit till the rest of the games are played, with a 2-1 win away from home against Nasarawa United who suffers a second consecutive league defeat after their unbeaten start to the season despite the Aba side having a player sent off in Anthony Omaka.
Bottom of the table Adamawa United lost 1-0 to Akwa United at home with veteran Mfon Udoh getting the goal and Jibrin Abubarkar getting sent off for the home side, Kano Pillars defeated Jigawa Golden Stars 2-0 with goals from Rabiu Abbas and Ndasi Denis Kaddiang, Kwara United defeated Lobi Stars 2-1 with goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba conceding his first goal in five games.
Warri Wolves returned to winning ways defeating Plateau United 1-0 and MFM failed to win a game for the fifth game in a row as they lost 2-0 to Wikki Tourist in Bauchi.
The two games left in MD8 holds tomorrow with Katsina United hosting 2nd placed Rivers United and struggling Heartland FC taking on FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Owerri.
