Ahead of the match Day 1 opening fixture between Jigawa Golden Stars and Sunshine Stars of Akure, Coach of Sunshine Stars, Gbenga Ogunbote has admitted that his team will try all its best in today’s Match Day 1 of the new NPFL season, to get a positive result when they play visitors to Jigawa Golden Stars.
The Experienced Gaffer said even though his team are not fully prepared for the League opener, he believes that his team has all it takes to emerge with a positive result against the Jigawa based side.
In a chat with Sports247, ahead of the game, Ogunbote admitted the lack of proper preparation for his team, stating that every NPFL game is an important match, as well as acknowledging Jigawa Golden Stars as a good side, but his team will do all it takes to emerge victorious in the match.
“Every match is a very serious game. Jigawa is not a bad side, they are a good team, I have been there for some time now, but we (Sunshine Stars) have done our best to make sure we represent the state very well. Come Sunday (Today), we will do our best and possibly to go home with a positive result”.
“I am not really satisfied with our preparation, because we had a lot of issues in preparation. We are just about 10 days old preparing to play the game. If I had my ways, I would have said let push the game forward, but all the same, we want to do do our best to emerge victorious in the match, he concluded.
The match would be played in Kaduna today by 4pm (Nigerian time).
