The head coach of NPFL club side, Dakkada FC, Caleb Esu has said that the team is need of motivation to survive the remaining part of the NPFL season.
Coach Esu made the declaration in the post match press conference in Uyo after his team defeated Heartland FC, Owerri by a lone goal where he reiterated that the motivation could be financial or psychological.
‘this aspect of football is all about motivation, the boys really need motivation, I do not need to pretend over it, we need to motivate and psyche this team up, in this second round, every team that plays in the premiership during this second round were consolidated and actually with the situation we find ourselves, it has not been that easy and I must say here that Dakkada need motivation, could be financial, could be psychological’
Lauding the players for showing strength and getting a more needed three points, Esu said the boys put up a good performance.
‘you must know that some matches have been played in far distance, you do not have enough time to rest and recuperate, the confidence was down but due to some psyching by the management and good people of Akwa Ibom state, the boys pulled through with a result, the players that we have are willing to play and put in their best’.
There had been reports that Dakkada FC players are being owed salaries and bonuses which had caused them to have a drop in form since the start of the second part of the league.
Dakkada FC earned their first three points in 6 games after defeating Heartland FC by a lone goal on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo
