Sports247 have gathered from a reliable source in Dakkada FC that over three players are set to leave the team by weekend to other NPFL clubs due to incomplete payment of salaries by the state government.
It can be recalled that the team was infact before now an NNL team and had previously experienced issues with non-payment of salaries while they were in the NNL. Dakkada FC who recently got promotion into the Nigeria top league side have been performing exceptional well since it’s promotion. In an interview with our source in Dakkada FC he said “At least since we are performing well in the league and doing our part the Akwa Ibom State Government should also do it’s job of paying us complete salaries and not half since they can’t increase our pays, we are all ready to play for Dakkada if they can pay us complete salary we don’t need the raise again”.
We also gathered that the state government had agreed to give a raise to the players and management considering they’re now playing the NPFL. According to unconfirmed reports, the new budget for the team had been approved but not cleared to pay.
According to our source in the team the three players ready to make a move to another club are Femi Ajayi, Lateef Babalola and Uwana Asuquo.
Last week, Arit Utibe one of Dakkada’s player also left to sign with Lobi Stars FC.
