Head coach of Heartland FC of Owerri, Fidelis Ilechukwu has said that league leaders plateau United deserve to be crowned NPFL champions.
Expressing his opinion in a chat with @9aijasports, the former MFM FC gaffer said if the league cannot continue, the Jos club has done enough.
‘to me if the league cannot continue because of this virus, plateau United have done so much, showing quality home and away’.
The gaffer however said he believes like everyone one else that the league is still an open race.
‘Although people say the league is still open, which I also believe, but based on their performance, I think they deserve the league’.
Before the NPFL went on Covid-19 break, plateau United were 4 points clear at the top of the table with 13 games to go.
