Kwara United captain Akeem Onigbari has solicited for more supports from the club’s faithfuls appealing on behalf of his teammates the need for the fans to keep faith in them.
This comes after Kwara United’s defeat against Lobi Stars where the Harmony Boys were unlucky not to have scored despite caging the visitors for more than 45 minutes.
Members of the club’s management were attacked by some sponsored hooligans after the game against Lobi in which some of them took the advantage of the game to carry out their action.
Onigbari who was on the bench against Lobi Stars begged the real fans of the club not to allow those who don’t have the love of the team at hearts to associate with them and take advantages of the situation.
“I want to appeal to all our fans to please forgive us for our defeat against Lobi Stars which we never wanted, but luck was just against us.
“The management of the club are trying their best to make us comfortable and we want to promise them and all our fans that we will rise again to make people happy.
“This is the best time that we need your support and together we can achieve success this season,” Onigbari explained to the club’s media team.
Kwara United will be traveling to Kano this weekend to face Jigawa Golden Stars in their next game and Onigbari stressed that the Harmony Boys will redeem themselves in the encounter.
“We are going to Kano to make some correction and we need the prayers of all our fans so that we can achieve success in our coming game,” he added.
Meanwhile, Jigawa Golden Stars are occupying 19th position on the NPFL standings, while Kwara United are aiming to inflict a defeat on them and move up on the table.
