NPFL 2019/20: OGWU HITS BRACE FOR MFM AS ARIT SCORE 4TH OF THE SEASON

Four goals were scored at the Agege soccer temple in Lagos as MFM FC beat Kano Pillars by three goals to one. MFM went down to a Folarin Abayomi own goal but rallied back in the second half to claim victory.

MFM’s forwards, Clement Ogwu and Adeniji Kabir were on the score sheet with the former scoring a brace after Adeniji had scored the equalizer in the 52nd minute. The brace is Agwu’s third goal of the season after he had netted once earlier for the Olukoya boys with Kabir also having three goals for the season.

In Akure, it was Anthony Omaka that scored the match winner for the Akure gunner in their two nil win over FC Ieanyi Ubah. Omaka has now scored three goals for the season after scoring a brace some weeks ago against Kano Pillars. Jide Fatokun had put Sunshine ahead in the 24th minute.

The Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo witnessed two draws as Dakkada FC and Akwa United played goalless draws with Plateau United and Enugu Rangers. Plateau and Rangers had top scorers Ibrahim Mustapha and Israel Abia in their squad but, both fired blank on the day.

Utibe Arit started life with Lobi Stars with a goal against Wikki Tourist on Sunday, the striker now has three goals for the season after scoring two goals with Dakkada FC. The win was secured with Austin Ogunye’s 20th Minute penalty.

Defending champions, Enyimba claimed bragging right in the Abia derby with goals from Austin Oladapo and Stanley Dimgba. Oladapo’s goal was his 4th of the season in the league.

Elsewhere, Joseph Atule also scored his 4th goal of the season to help Katsina United defeat Warri Wolves. Mohammed Gambo scored the match winner as the game ended 2-1.

Top scorers, Taisu Lawal, Ibrahim Mustapha and Israel Abia all fired blank for their clubs on the match day.
