Lobi Stars Football Club will on Sunday 23rd February, 2020 take on Plateau United Football Club in a determinant game of Match Day 21 of the 2019/2020 NPFL.
Lobi Stars were on top of the table ahead of Plateau United with a 2 point lead until last Sunday when an exchange of baton of league leadership took place after the former lost in Bauchi and later won in Jos .
The Sunday clash will determine the new leader of NPFL at least for the next 7 days. Non of the two teams involved in the derby are relying on the strength of another club for leadership as it’s going to be a winner takes all situation. To Lobi Stars, the Match Day 21 fixture has a dual purpose of image redemption and leadership take over. The pride of Benue have since put the defeat in Bauchi behind them and are looking forward to picking the maximum points unhindered.
The spirit in the Lobi Stars camp is quite high, the expectations of Makurdi fans is on high mode too, nothing short of a land slide victory will be accepted by the fans if the ambition of winning the league is to be kept alive.
The technical defects have been put right by the Lobi Stars technical crew headed by LBA January 2020 Coach of the month Olugbenga Ogunbote and the players are all ready to go for the kill in redemption.

The Executive Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars Mr Mike Idoko advised the team to put back the last week defeat and confront the all important game irrespective of forces against us as one with God is majority. We will do our best and leave the rest to God. He therefore call for fervent prayers and mass turn up to cheer the pride of Benue to victory.
