Kwara United will be the latest visitors to savour the magnificence of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, when they engage Dakkada FC in the early kick-off of Match Day twenty-One of the NPFL, on Saturday.
There will be an extra spice to this fixture as both Kwara United and Dakkada arrive on the back of a streak of three matches without a win and will be poised to get straight back to winning ways.
Dakkada’s Head Coach, Caleb Esu, made just one change to his start list in Jos last Sunday with the introduction of Harrison Ibukun in the place of Isaac George who is regain his place in the gaffer’s traditional Turkish 4-4-2 system.
Dakkada, who have garnered a total of 19 points from 10 home matches this term courtesy of their 6 wins and 1 draw, will be hoping for a change in fortune against a Kwara United side who rank among NPFL’s good travellers with two wins in ten away matches.
Dakkada’s top scorer Femi Ajayi with five goals and five assists will be hoping to come to the party in his scoring boots – the energetic forward hasn’t found the back of the net in the last three outings since doing so at Wikki on February 2.
In the 2-0 loss at Enyimba last Wednesday, Kwara Head Coach, Abdullahi Biffo, made five changes to the starting eleven which drew 1-1 at home to Rivers United last Sunday with the introduction of Goalkeeper Emmanuel Iwu, Samuel Ganda, Omolayo Ibrahim, Chinedu Ufere and Abdulsalam Abdulsalam in the places of Goalkeeper Abdullateef Ishola, Dede Moughara, Issa Magaji, Issah Ejeh and top scorer Alao Danbani.
Reminiscences of Kwara United’s last visit to Uyo on January 15 may force Biffo, who is no stranger to squad rotation, to draft top scorer Danbani Alao straight into Saturday’s start list – the pacey forward scored twice in a 0-2 away win at Akwa United – however, lightening, they say, never strikes twice at the same place.
The reverse fixture in Asaba on Match Day One finished 1-1 with goals by Isaac George (Dakkada) and Bala Yahuza (Kwara United then known as Delta Force).
Kick-Off is at four o’clock in the afternoon while live text updates and video highlights are available on Dakkada’s social media handles.
