NPFL 2019/20: LOBI STARS IN BAUCHI TO KICK START SECOND ROUND AGAINST WIKKI TOURISTS….

Lobi Stars Football Club Makurdi are in Bauchi in the second of the back to back fixture against Wikki Tourists Football Club Bauchi to commence the second round of The NPFL 2019/2020.

Wikki Tourists were in Makurdi last weekend as the last opponents of Lobi Stars in the first round and lost with a 2-1 margin. The victory placed Lobi Stars on the summit of the league table at the end of the first round with 35 points from 19 games, 2 points clear from the close chasing Plateau United.

Ironically, the 2-1 end result of Lobi Stars against Wikki Tourists in Makurdi was not a true reflection of play as Lobi Stars missed out of a goal feast situation and finally gave away a last-minute goal to Wikki Tourists which made it appeared as a keenly contested game.

To make matters worse for Wikki Tourists, their outstanding game last Wednesday ended up in a 3-0 scandalous loss to Enyimba Int’l which sank them down a step afloat the relegation red line. On the other end, Lobi Stars will have to leave beyond the ordinary to make a good result out of the game as the only means to maintain the top spot on the log.

The game is all-important to Lobi Stars to keep flying higher as well as it is to Wikki Tourists to escape a further sink down the relegation zone. Irrespective of the feelings or desire of the hosts, The Pride of Benue are in Bauchi for a star result, sentiments notwithstanding.

Speaking to Lobi Stars media, The January 2020 League Bloggers Award Coach of the month, Lobi Stars Gbenga Ogunbote said, the game against Wikki Tourists is a big game and every member of the Lobi Stars family knows the importance of the game, though the hosts are expected to come out as wounded lions gave their recent results and position on the league table but all that doesn’t matter to him as his wards are in Bauchi for a positive result.

The award-winning Coach called for prayers from all stakeholders of Lobi Stars for a good game and a level playing ground tomorrow.
