NPFL 2019/20: ISRAEL TOP THE SHARP SHOOTERS LIST

With 7 weeks gone in the  NPFL 2019/20, Nigerian professional football league, we take a look at the strikers who are banging in the goals for their respective clubs.

Leading the pack is Sunshine stars of Akure’s Israel Abia who scored 4 goals against Nassarawa United in week 7 to take his total tally of goals to 5 and is closely followed by Akwa Starlet’s Isaac George who has scored 4 goals in seven matches.

Katsina United’s Tasiu Lawal who has been inspirational for the northern-based club side is another player with 4 goals already. Most of Lawal’s goals have come from the penalty spot and have been crucial for the team with latest giving them three-point against MFM FC. Ndifreke Effiong of Akwa United, returning from U-23 national team duties also with four goals after scoring a hat trick for the promise keepers to hand them the first win of the season.

The above scorers are narrowly followed by Jimoh Oni of Lobi Stars, Enyimba International’s Austin Oladapo who both have three goals in the campaign so far. Wikki Tourist’s Daniel Jackson, Lobi Star’s Sikiru Alimi are also tied on three goals.

Ibrahim Mustapha of Plateau United has also helped his team remain top of the table with three goals with Mfon Udoh of Akwa United and Nyima Nwagua of Kano Pillars who both have 2 goals each making up the top 10 goal scorers.

Lots of other players are tied on two goals with the likes of Idris Guda Mohammed (Wikki tourists), Bala Yahuza (Delta Force), Adeniji Kabir (MFM FC), Sadiq Lawal (Adamawa United), Victor Mbaoma (Enyimba FC) among a few on two goals.
