The remains of late Enugu Rangers International Football club striker, Ifeanyi Onwubiko George was finally laid to rest Saturday afternoon at the Atan cemetery, Yaba, Lagos.
George, who died alongside two other footballers in a ghastly car accident on their way to Lagos, was buried amidst tears and anguish by family members that included his parents and siblings, as well as, the football community, including representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers (NANPF).
In a message delivered on behalf of NANPF President, Tijani Babangida, MON, by a member of the Lagos State Chapter, Kelvin Etemike, the union once again commiserates with the family. As it reassured them of players’union support and well wishes now and at all times.
It prayed that God will strengthen the family mentally and spiritually at this trying times. The union also expressed its appreciation to the management of Enugu Rangers FC for its steadfastness and support for the family of the deceased.
