Kwara United striker, Alao Dambani has been named as the Nigerian Professional football league player of the month for the month of January.
Alao Dambani was announced the winner of the monthly award through the official twitter handle of the organizers – The Legaue Bloggers Awards.
Dambani, who scored three goals in the month overcame competitions from teammate and Kwara United’s goal keeper, Abdullateef Ishola who kept 3 clean sheets in 5 league games in the month, Kano pillars’ Auwali Ali who scored thrice and Ndifreke Effiong of Akwa United who scored a hat trick in the month.
For the coach of the month award, Lobi Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote was named the coach of the month, January.
The gaffer overpowered competitions from Stanley Eguma (Rivers United), Abdullahi Biffo (Kwara United) and Sulaimon Dogo (Sunshine stars) to clinch the award.
The Legaue Bloggers Awards also announced Akwa United as the winner of the Quarter 2 LBA Nigeria Quarterly award.
Akwa United, after a disappointing start to the season has had a reviving three months after Kennedy Boboye was appointed head coach, which has moved them to sixth position on the league table following the resignation of John Obuh.
The LBA Nigeria Quarterly award is a classification of award that provides a picture of the performance of the NPFL teams over a period of four quarters during the season.
