The newly-appointed head coach of Abia Warriors, Imama Amapakabo has assured that his absence in the NPFL will not affect his managerial abilities when the league resumes.
Amapakabo was some days ago announced as the new head coach of Abia Warriors ahead of the NPFL new season scheduled to start between September and October.
The former El-Kanemi Warriors coach noted that he had been following the NPFL despite his national team duties.
“a lot of league followers too know that I’ve been around the league venues when we’ve had games cos of my designation as a National team coach.”
The NPFL title-winning coach who was chatting with journalists on Family United by Football WhatsApp platform, FUBF said not had happened in the league since his absence.
” I’ve been out of the league but how much football have been played in the league from the time I coached El Kanemi to date. So truth is that I’ve followed the league very well and even better.”
Amapakabo was in charge of the home-based Super Eagles and the U -23 national team and also served as assistant to Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr.
