The 2023 Nigeria U20 invitee had been in England this week, ready to finalize his move to the two-time European champions after a successful trial.

However, the transfer talks, which initially seemed promising, have now collapsed due to what has been described as complex negotiations and Rangers’ unrealistic demands.

Sources close to the deal have revealed that Rangers attempted to include several stringent clauses in the contract, which ultimately led Nottingham Forest to withdraw from the deal.

Despite holding meetings on Thursday, August 15, aimed at breaking the deadlock, no resolution was achieved.

With the summer transfer window closing in just two weeks, Nottingham Forest has shifted its focus to other potential signings to strengthen its academy. The club had been keen on adding Ishaka to their ranks, viewing him as a significant prospect for the future.

For Ishaka, the failure of the deal is a significant setback. The young winger had prioritized a move to the City Ground over an offer from an Austrian club, seeing the Premier League as the ideal platform to showcase his talent.

Now, with his future at Rangers uncertain, Ishaka faces a challenging few weeks. His contract with the Scottish club is in its final year, and Rangers are reportedly open to selling him if their valuation is met.

In the wake of the collapsed transfer, both Ishaka and Nottingham Forest may revisit the situation in future transfer windows, depending on the player’s performance and the club’s needs.

“The deal fell apart because of clauses that were simply too unrealistic. Both clubs have to consider the player’s best interests, but in this case, a compromise couldn’t be reached,” a source close to the negotiations stated.
