Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has provided an update on the progress of striker Taiwo Awoniyi’s recovery from a thigh injury.
Awoniyi, who sustained the injury last month, has been gradually returning to full fitness and has started training partially with his teammates. The Nigeria international has been sidelined for the Tricky Trees’ last five Premier League games due to the injury.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo expressed optimism that Awoniyi will be available for selection before the conclusion of the season. While Taiwo Awoniyi has yet to fully join the group for training sessions, Santo confirmed that the striker is making progress in his recovery from the injury.
“Taiwo Awoniyi hasn’t joined the group yet. He is still partially integrated into the group,” Santo stated ahead of Nottingham Forest’s upcoming fixture against Everton this weekend.
The update will be welcomed by Nottingham Forest fans, who are eager to see Awoniyi back on the pitch and contributing to the team’s performance.
As the season reaches its final stages, Awoniyi’s potential return to full fitness could provide a significant boost to Nottingham Forest’s attacking options and their aspirations for the remainder of the campaign.
